I’m so grateful for the devotional books and verse of the day type of resources that we have accessible to us today to help encourage us in our walk with God, but reading God’s Word that way only won’t help us grasp the context, themes and message of Bible. Reading the Bible book-by-book or studying a book of the Bible step-by-step, all the way through isn’t common practice amongst most Christians today but, again, I can testify that in my life it has been the most powerful way for me to study the Scriptures. Honestly, knowledge of what God’s Word actually says, let alone actually believing and living out what God’s Word says, is something that is massively lacking in our society, especially amongst millennial Christians. It’s vital for every Christian to have a firm foundation in our faith and a firm understanding of the Word of God. I think Zach put it so well in the quote above.
